Summer BBQ
Stewardship Committee is hosting a BBQ May 26, after the 2nd service.  The meat will be provided-bring a dish to share if you can.  To assist or for questions see Dave Mason, Tannis Causey or  Kathy Combs.  Free, but donations accepted!  Let’s kick off the summer together!

Tai Chi Class Openings
The Tuesday, noon Tai Chi class is open to new students.  To enroll, attend Tuesday, May 24.  Class is free to members/constituents. Contact the office or Rev. Dixie Jennings-Teats for details. 


Information Session on the 400 W. King St. Building

Information on the status of the 400 W. King St. building will be presented at an all-church meeting on Monday, June 10, at 6:30 pm in the church sanctuary.


Please mark this meeting on your calendar and plan to attend. Information presented during the meeting will include the current tenant and financial situation of the building as well as ramifications of possibly selling the building. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and hear discussion on why a resolution has been proposed to sell the building. How the proceeds from the sale of the building could be managed will also be presented and discussed.


It is important that you have information to consider the situation with the 400 W. King St. building. Church members will be asked to vote on the resolution to sell the building on July 1 at an all-church conference.

Small Blessings Preschool Registration
Registration for the 2024-2025 school year at Small Blessings is open to all children ages of 3-5 years old.

VBS 2024: June 24-28
Christie James will be directing vacation Bible school this summer! Now is the time to consider volunteering- we’ll need teachers, assistants, behind the scenes folks, kitchen helpers, etc!  Contact Christie or the office for more information.


Youth Group Summer Break
The youth group (grades 6-12) will continue to meet for Sunday school during the 9:30 service through May.  Over the summer youth will stay in church to attend the 9:30 service. 

United Women in Faith Scholarships
The UWF is offering scholarships to members/constituents of 1st UMC who will be attending an accredited institution of higher learning in the fall of 2024.


Banghart Scholarships
The Banghart Scholarship is available to members/constituents completing post-secondary education (degree, certification, etc.). Applications are available in the office.

May Artist in Residence:
Jenny Schnabel will be displaying work in the Wesley Room through the month of May. Be sure to stop by and check out her work!

We have many open months coming up to showcase your work! Work is displayed in the Wesley Room for the month. Artists are welcome to list their work for sale. Contact the office or Jenny Schnabel to sign up!
